CONNECT 24

Welcome to Connect 24, a group exhibition with ambitions of connecting us all at the end of the year.

The open call had an amazing response and an incredible 275 physical pieces are displayed in the show and many more online. Every piece of work submitted was in an online exhibition, which you can see in VIEW CATALOGUE below and on the front page.

More than 150 artists entered, and all mediums, all materials, all disciplines have been accepted, from painting and drawing to sculpture, collage and mixed media and digital.

It is the fourth group show here  at the Art of Isolation in SE London since 2020, and the biggest we’ve ever done, numbering nearly 300 artworks including the online-only exhibits.

It opened with an amazing Private View attended by more than 100 of the artists and their friends (see pics), and runs to January 3, 2025.

It has been a platform for connections, both as an end-of-year bash to bring us together, and also a chance to reflect on things that have felt connected or helped you connect.

There have been some great stories about connections, which can be read in the online catalogue.

Here are some of the themes that were covered in the brief.

  • Artists’ connections this year, sometimes as simple as connecting with another person over a portrait drawing.
  • A sense of connecting with oneself, getting a deeper awareness, understanding of our core being
  • Connections reflected in a landscape that was painted, or a self portrait that was drawn.
  • Reconnecting with old friends, and making more time for family, reaching out to someone who hadn’t done so for a long time.
  • Connections with a place. A group of people they draw or paint with.
  • Connections with groups of people, models in a class and life drawing sessions
  • Connections taking an abstract form, a feeling that inspired a certain energy.
